I’m from Charleston, West Virginia
-
My education I received my associate's degree in civil engineering at Bridgevalley Community College in Charleston, WV. I then studied architectural engineering at Oklahoma State University, where I finished with my Bachelor of Architecture.
-
Notable accomplishments/awards I completed my licensure exams within my first year out of school!
-
Community service In school, I was the Director of Freedom by Design-an organization devoted to community service through design. There, I led a team as we created a community garden for a local food pantry in Stillwater, OK.
-
Why PCA? PCA's culture and ideas around community and improving people's daily lives really align with my goals as an architect. The firm holds its core values at the center of every conversation and it's not just for show.
-
My earliest architectural / interior design memory As a kid, I would try to draw the floor plan of my home and try to understand the layout of the rooms just from observation.
-
I’m drawn to design because I grew up in a place where design wasn't accessible like it is in larger cities and I realized how important it is in people's lives. As an architect, I want to create equitable design and make it accessible to smaller communities.
-
Materials that excite me are mass timber! We're building in such interesting ways now that the technology is getting stronger and more aesthetic. It excites me for the future in design.
-
I’m inspired by other medias of design! I try to find design inspiration through film photography, crochet and even in baking.
-
Ball point or felt tip? Roller ball! But felt is also close to my heart (in my shirt pocket).
-
On my playlist: Just about anything indie or alternative. Hozier, Young the Giant, and Omar Apollo usually find their way into my Spotify Wrapped every year.
-
If you were a pantone swatch, what color would you be? #FCC201 - Vibrant but subdued
-
If you could snap your fingers and become an expert in something, what would it be? Languages! I would love to know Spanish, Japanese and many more.
-
The craziest thing I’ve ever done is I booked a solo trip to Denmark nine days out and spent a week traveling before starting at PCA.

The best piece of advice I've ever been given is kill your darlings -- sometimes there's that thing about a design that you love so much but no matter how hard you try, it just doesn't work. Once you get rid of it, the design tends to flow easier.
