#1 Hotel in Boston, Reader’s Choice Award, 2019

Conde Nast Traveler

Award-winning and much lauded by travelers and media alike, The Revolution Hotel embodies Boston’s independent spirit and redefines the boundaries of where urbanites meet, stay, eat, work and socialize. Located at the corner of Boston’s Berkeley and Appleton streets, this adaptive reuse project met the challenge of converting a historic YWCA dormitory into a modern boutique hotel that also hosts a restaurant, community coworking space and de facto art gallery. The hotel has been a hit from the get-go, operating at full capacity since opening.

Working with two interconnected seven-story buildings — one brick and one concrete — and rooms that average a compact 125 SF, we found creative and unique ways to transform the aging buildings into an urban, edgy hot spot. Working with Creative Director Adam&Co., we combined the latest in hospitality design with innovative placemaking to craft one-of-a-kind public spaces and versatile custom-designed guest rooms. The hotel’s integrated artworks come courtesy of artists who uphold the spirit of innovation that Boston is known for.

The Revolution Hotel manages to be open and welcoming, yet quirky and irreverent — just like the new breed of traveler who stays there.
